As some of you may know, we have a new "little" project that has been in The Fab School shop the last month. This project comes in the form of a donated molten orange Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, often seen by our students and visitors in various stages of modification. Current Advanced Fabrication students Matt Bell, Brandon Grajeda, Broc Hopkins and Angel Morfin have been working diligently with Instructors to make this Raptor race ready in order to compete in the annual Dakar Rally, taking place in January in Argentina and Chile.
The Raptor will be driven by a team consisting of automotive journalist Sue Mead, veteran off road racer Darren Skilton and our very own Troy Johnson. But first, the stock Ford will need to be modified and prepped by these stand out Fab School Students, with a complete roll-cage and other structural and suspension enhancements. Though they are on a strict deadline, I have no doubt this team will come together to make this all possible.
