APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

  1. Create an FSA ID and complete your FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov, which is your access to all federal financial aid programs including grants and student loans.
  2. Use The Fab SchoolTM Federal School Code: 042222
  3. Once FAFSA is completed, contact our Financial Aid office at 877-411-9353 or financialaid@thefabschool.edu
  4. Once your FAFSA has been processed, you may be selected by the federal government for “verification.” If your application is selected you may be asked to provide federal tax transcripts and additional forms. Please respond quickly so The Fab SchoolTM can continue to process your application.

TYPES OF FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

PELL GRANTS

Unlike loans, grants do not need to be paid back except for vey rare circumstances. For those whom qualify, grants are awarded based on financial need combined with the cost of attendance (determined by your school and specific program).

PARENT PLUS LOAN

Some parents borrow Parent PLUS loans to make sure their children don’t take on too much student loan debt. These loans offer a fixed interest rate and flexible loan limits. Typically, it is best to exhaust eligibility for Direct Student Loans first, since these loans offer lower rates and better terms.

  • Before applying you must fill out FAFSA. The same FAFSA used for Federal Financial Aid is required.

DIRECT SUBSIDIZED STUDENT LOANS

For those who qualify and have financial need, subsidized loans offer students favorable terms, and the interest is paid by the U.S. Department of Education under the following conditions:

  • While you’re in school at least half-time

  • For the first 6 months after you leave school (grace period)

  • During a time of deferment (postponement of loan payments)

DIRECT UNSUBSIDIZED STUDENT LOANS

Qualified applicants are not required to demonstrate a financial need in order to receive an unsubsidized loan disbursement. However, terms are less favorable and include:

  • Interest immediately begins to accrue at the time of first disbursement

  • Interest accrues during all times of forbearance, deferment, and the 6-month grace period after leaving school

ALTERNATIVES TO FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

PERSONAL PRIVATE LOAN

You can apply with your local bank or credit union for a personal loan to help fund the tuition costs for enrollment. Currently, The Fab SchoolTM is not partnered with any private lending institutions.

PAY UPFRONT OR PAYMENT PLAN

If there is still a balance due on your tuition after exploring all aid options, you can either pay the remaining balance, or we can work with you on an interest free payment plan that will be paid in installments while enrolled in the course. Final payment must be made before course completion.

We are here to answer any question you have regarding tuition and financial aid. You can email us at financialaid@thefabschool.edu or call us at 877-411-9353.
