The Fab School has been serving students since 2005 and operates under the leadership of the school Director, Troy Johnson.  The Fab School is a private occupational/vocational trade school specializing in the skills of metal fabrication and CNC machining.  The Fab School was approved by the California Bureau for Private Post-secondary and Vocational Education, (BPPVE) prior to their sunset on July 1, 2007.  This certification ensured that the curriculum met the standards of the fabrication industry.  The BPPVE also provided student rights throughout their educational experience.

The Fab School is nationally accredited by the Council of Occupational Education. The award of accreditation status is based on an evaluation to demonstrate that the institution meets not only the standards of quality of the Commission, but also the needs of students, the community, and employers.

The Fab School founder, Troy Johnson, has been involved in the fabrication industry since 1987.  Troy Johnson personally knows the complexity and scope of work involved in the industry. Troy Johnson was the sole owner and operator of Johnson Fabrication and has traveled around the world fabricating.

The Fab School’s curriculum was approved by the State of California and meets the standards of the fabrication industry.  State certification also ensures students rights throughout their educational experience at The Fab School.

The Fab School offers job placement assistance to students that have successfully completed a participating program and meet criteria needed for job placement. Student’s performance and attendance will be evaluated prior to job recommendations.  The Fab School does not guarantee job placement; however, they will make every effort possible to successfully place their students.

The Fab School staff will support the non-technical component of the educational experience for student’s preparing to enter the job market by assisting students with resume preparation and interview practice sessions. 

The Fab School offers a variety of loan programs and scholarship opportunities to fit each student’s needs. Students must qualify for the loan programs by meeting certain credit requirements or by submitting the loan application with a qualifying co-signer. In addition, The Fab School accepts an array of tuition assistance programs that include the Montgomery GI Bill, Workforce Investment Act, California Department of Rehabilitation, and worker’s compensation re-training.
